The
work of Howard Post has long been recognized
for its unique interpretation of the West.
Post's work is distinguished by a close personal
involvement with his subject.
A third generation Arizonan, Post grew up
on a ranch near Tucson. Never far from his
roots, he was a champion rodeo rider at the
age of 17 and continued to participate in
the rodeo circuit for many years. He attended
the University of Arizona where he completed
his BFA and MFA. After teaching at both the
University of Arizona and Arizona State University,
Post became a full time painter in the late
1970's.
His work quickly achieved critical acclaim
and became a part of such important collections
as the Smithsonian, AT&T, United Airlines
and the Midland Museum.
