"In my paintings, I want to portray a glimpse rather than the whole story. This allows the viewer to participate with the painting by completing the vignette any way he or she feels to. As one completes the painting in the minds eye, each piece will hopefully arouse nostalgic memories of grandpa's time on the farm, the smell of the ranch growing up, or even a self portrait."

Born in Tempe, Arizona, and graduating from Arizona State University with an architectural degree cum laude, Nelson Boren currently hails from Sandpoint, Idaho. Nelson's work has been featured in a variety of publications including Southwest Art, Art of the West, Art Talk, Leading the West: 100 Contemporary Painters and Sculptures and New Westers: The West in Contemporary American Culture. Boren has exhibited throughout the U.S. and has work in the permanent collections of the Buffalo Bill Historical Center, the Dallas Cowboys and the Minnesota Vikings, the Coca-Cola Company, and the Museum of Nebraska Art.
