SHERRY HARRINGTON

Sherry says drawing has always been a passion and painting has been a natural extension of herself - she can't remember not drawing. Sherry started painting at the age of twelve, and except for some classes during her early teens and a few workshops through the years Sherry is self-taught. During high school and early marriage she used pastels and did occasional commission portraits. Later Sherry rediscovered oils and the obsession began.

During the past ten years Sherry has painted subjects ranging from Americana and the cowboys to the American West, and she has recently started to paint Native Americans; she mainly uses young children and women these days. Sherry and her husband travel from their home in central Texas to New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado and South Dakota each year to meet the people she paints and to gather new material.

Sherry's enthusiasm for her painting and subject matter are one of the first things you notice when you meet her. Sherry is truly an artist who enjoys her work.
